Investment in Front-Line Policing

I am delighted to see that Warwickshire Police is on course to grow from 800 police officers at the start of the year to 950 before the end of the year.

Phillip Seccombe, our Police and crime Commissioner, consulted earlier this year on an increased policing precept, all of which would go to adding police officers on the front-line. Crime is one of the biggest concerns of residents in Warwick, Leamington, Witnash and the villages, and I am pleased that we are starting to see these numbers coming through.

These new officers will lead to increased visibility and a quicker response to incidents across Warwickshire. They will be joined by the additional numbers that the Prime Minister has announced. The Safer Neighbourhood Teams will be strengthened and a new Rural Crime Team is being formed.
