Jack welcomes PM's announcement of a July election
Jack Rankin welcomes the Prime Minister’s announcement that a General Election will be held on Thursday 4th July, saying it feels like “the right time” to go to the country.
With inflation down to 2.4% and the economy turning the corner, we can see that Rishi Sunak’s plan is working, in contrast to Labour’s Keir Starmer who has no plan and has shown that he will U-turn on policies whenever he comes under pressure.
Jack, your Conservative candidate, wants to be an MP for all the towns and villages that make up the Windsor constituency. He lives in Sunninghill with his young family and two beagles, and if he has pledged to be local and visible – opening an office in the constituency and commuting to Westminster.
In the video, recorded on the day of the PM’s announcement, Jack comments: “The Conservatives have a clear plan… we're going to increase defence spending to 2.5% of GDP, up to 2030. We're going to reduce the double tax on work, which is national insurance. And we're getting productivity improvements in the NHS which are vital for tackling waiting lists.
"The message is from Windsor, Eton, Datchet, Horton, Wraysbury, Langley, Foxborough, Colnbrook, Ascot, Sunninghill, Sunningdale, Virginia Water, Englefield Green, the plan is starting to work, you don't know what we're getting with the Labour Party and we don't want to go back to square one.”
