Having attended the plaque unveiling, Jack said:
"An honour to attend the unveiling of a blue plaque commemorating thirty five child Holocaust survivors brought to Britain in 1945, as part of the Ascot Holocaust Education Project.
They were housed in Woodcote House, a large country house in Ascot, which was demolished in the 1990s, and located opposite the racecourse. It had been used during the war to house Jewish children evacuated from London.
I was privileged to meet Ivor Perl, one of the thirty-five, at the unveiling, who now lives in London and is involved in education around the Holocaust.
Thank you to Cllr Allison Sharpe and all at Sunninghill and Ascot Parish Council for making it happen."
