Flooding remains the number one concern in Datchet, Wraysbury, Horton and parts of Old Windsor.
These communities simply do not have the same level of protection that Windsor and Eton benefit from and with serious flooding becoming an all-too-regular threat, that must change.
I have been campaigning for Phase One of the River Thames Scheme to be reinstated so that Datchet to Hythe End is not left behind when it comes to proper flood protection. Current status is chasing the EA for the business cases in their new Datchet to Hythe Emd workstream.
Even if that got the go ahead it’d be some time and we need the short and medium term support, a must-have is the clearing and reopening the Wraysbury Drain which would make a real difference and I will continue pushing for the action residents need.
We cannot wait for the next flood before taking this seriously.
