On Saturday, Windsor MP Jack Rankin attended Datchet Baptist Church’s Volunteer Appreciation Cream Tea event, held to celebrate and thank the many volunteers who give their time and energy to community groups across Datchet and the wider area.
The event brought together representatives from over twenty local organisations, including Scouts, Guides, sports clubs, the Women’s Institute, parish councillors, and many more, reflecting the breadth of voluntary activity in the village.
The celebration was organised by members of Datchet Baptist Church, including Rev Richard Wallace and Deacon, John Livingston playing a key role in bringing the community together for the afternoon.
Commenting, Jack Rankin MP said:
“Datchet has an extraordinary spirit of volunteering, and it was inspiring to talk to many groups and individuals recognised for their contributions.
“From youth organisations and schools to sports clubs and local societies, volunteers are the heartbeat of our communities, and it was a privilege to join this event to thank them for everything they do.”
Commenting, Rev Richard Wallace said:
“It was a great opportunity to thank all those who volunteer from so many of the organisations that make Datchet what it is. We were delighted that Jack was able to attend and say a few words of encouragement to volunteers for being the lifeblood of the village of Datchet.”.
