Jack Rankin said "It was a pleasure to visit Ascot United F.C. recently to spend time with some of the incredible volunteers who make such a difference to the club and the wider community.
I was proud to help recognise the dedication of several outstanding individuals with Pitching In Volunteer Awards, including:
Dean Papali and Ryan Benzie, whose commitment to supporting young players and their families has been invaluable
Clare McDonagh, a driving force behind the development of girls’ and women’s football at the club
Neal Jeffs, who has produced over 300 matchday programmes since 2014 and continues to champion both the men’s and women’s teams"
Speaking on the club more broadly, Jack said this
"Ascot United is a remarkable community club, supporting men’s, women’s and more than 80 youth teams, and I’m delighted that Entain’s Pitching In programme has been able to back their work, including a £5,000 grant to support disability football.
Thank you to Rob Jones, the club’s Chair, and to everyone involved for the warm welcome – and above all, thank you to the volunteers who give so much of their time to help others enjoy the game."
