"Great news from Slough Borough Council!
Following the public consultation process, all four libraries in Slough borough, including Langley Library in my constituency are to remain open.
Thank you to everyone who submitted their views to the Council's consultation - the strength of feeling locally - which I heard directly from constituents at the public meeting I attended - has clearly been shown.
I know the hard work that Councillor Puja Bedi has put into ensuring residents' voices were heard and thank the Council for their constructive work with me to save these vital library services.
Over a thousand responses were submitted to the Council's online survey, with 142 people attending the in-person and online consultation sessions. Read my response on behalf of my constituents here: https://www.jackrankin.org.uk/.../jack-rankin-mp-backs...
It's fantastic to see that recent data shows an upturn in library usage too - with Langley Library now second in demand after The Curve in the town centre. Funding bids to upgrade services are in the pipeline."
