"Many who know and love Eton have been in touch asking about the situation with The Cockpit. It's quite sad how long it has been boarded up.
Owner, Roger, kindly have me a tour and spoke about some of the problems he’s encountering. I have known Roger a little while: He is quite a character and entrepeneur, usually fizzing with energy, sadly here he isn't. He has taken the Cockpit on as a passion rather than a business opportunity, but you can see how the planning and heritage hurdles have got him down.
I've tried to cheer him up and we are going to try and try and help to unlock some these issues. We need this completed."
