It was a pleasure to join the judging panel at Windsor & Eton Brewery for the SIBA South East Independent Beer Competition and Awards.
Whilst I would not claim to be an expert, I do have plenty of experience and it was fascinating to spend time alongside experienced judges and learn what goes into assessing a great pint.
Congratulations to Three Acre Brewery, whose Bonfire Beer was crowned Overall Champion of the Cask Beer Competition and to Windsor & Eton Brewery, whose Guardsman picked up Silver Overall as well as Gold in the Best Bitter category (Willie, cheque in the post please!)
It was a privilege to play a small part in recognising some outstanding breweries and showcasing the quality of independent brewing.
We are lucky to have award-winning breweries right here in Windsor and I look forward to seeing even more local success in the years ahead.
