Jack welcomes announcement of a football regulator

Jack Rankin has backed new legislation to create an Independent Football Regulator, warning that "too many football clubs are being exploited and poorly managed, leading to a worse experience for fans".

The regulator will crack down on unfair breakaway leagues, bar owners who break the rules and have the power to issues fines to clubs that don't comply.

Jack explained: "Many constituents have written with regards the situation at Reading Football Club, where I support the Sell Before We Dai campaign. Under the current owner Mr Dai Yongee, the club faces a potential suspension from the League due to his alleged poor practises.

"The new regulator will crack down on the poor management that has happened under his watch, and create a more healthy environment for clubs so that we can all enjoy quality football.
